Softwash: An Ideal Solution for Roof and Exterior Cleaning
Softwashing is a cleaning method designed to clean the exterior surfaces of a home (siding, roofs, patios, etc.) safely and effectively. This technique involves applying a cleaning solution (typically bleach based) with low pressure (40 – 60 psi) and allowing the solution to dwell on the surface.
The cleaning solution is allowed to dwell on the surface and breaks down the dirt and contaminants which are then rinsed off with low pressure, minimizing the risk of damage.
Benefits of Softwashing:
Gentle on Surfaces
Softwashing is less likely to physically damage paint, wood, siding, or shingles. Whereas high pressure washing can be safe for some exterior surfaces, it should never be used on roofs – especially single roofs.
Long-Lasting Results
The chemical solutions used in softwashing not only clean but also treat the surfaces, providing a longer-lasting clean by inhibiting future organic growth.
Environmentally Friendly
Softwashing uses less water compared to traditional pressure washing and the cleaning agents are typically environmentally friendly, aligning with eco-conscious practices.
Effective Against Organic Growth
It is highly effective in removing mold, mildew, algae, and other biological elements, which are often the primary culprits in staining and degradation of exterior surfaces.
